A Latin American food festival is coming to Manchester this summer

Manchester is set to welcome a new rooftop restaurant offering dazzling panoramic views of the city.

The mastermind behind Chester’s famous wine bar and restaurant, Covino, will transform the roof of Blackfriars House into climatictheir new wine-focused restaurant and bar.

Blackfriars House has recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment and now has a co-working space, lounge with fireplace, podcast studio, 1920s-style reading room, a seventy-seat auditorium and an independent café.

And as part of its ethos of blending work and lifestyle, the company has now unveiled its collaboration with Covino, which will see the launch of an all-new rooftop dining concept this fall.

Bruntwood works

Le Climat will serve a seasonal menu that changes daily and which they claim will simply be “the food you want to eat”, as well as an extensive wine list including 250 varieties focused on the Burgundy region.

Charlotte Wild, head of retail and leisure at Bruntwood Works, said: ‘As we are seeing a big return to the city center post covid, he felt it was the right time to launch this new Amazing food and drink space in Manchester.

“Climate will bring a unique experience to this exciting part of town. With an eclectic wine range and seasonally inspired cuisine in a stunning new dining venue, it is destined to be an inspiring addition to Manchester.

“We are delighted to welcome Chris and his team to our Blackfriars community – they have incredible vision and will complement this magnificent building perfectly.

“For us, hospitality is very much at the heart of the workplace of the future and so having such a high quality offering at Blackfriars makes perfect sense.”

Christopher Laidler, owner of Covino and Climat restaurants, added: “It’s great to get your foot in the door in Manchester. This represents a big step forward for us. The site has so much to offer and we are going to add something special to a great city.

“The space will be unique to others with its panoramic views and we look forward to sharing our progress during construction leading up to opening in the fall…Ultimately, we want our guests to have a great experience. culinary and come to share our passion for very good food and drink.

Covino started life as a small 300 square foot restaurant and bar in 2016. It quickly outgrew its first location after two years and moved to larger premises around the corner where it transformed into a full-fledged restaurant.
