American restaurant chain Wingstop to open its first restaurant in Canada
American restaurant chain Wingstop is expanding into Canadian waters, opening its first restaurant in the country in Toronto.
As part of its global expansion, Wingstop will mark the first stop on its cross-country journey to Ontario’s capital.
The restaurant chain was successful in securing an agreement with Canada to open 100 Wingstop locations across the country over the next 10 years.

According to the restaurant, Canada has been targeted for its global expansion due to its proximity to the United States and similarities in consumer behavior.
Although the Toronto location is slated to open in 2021, Wingstop says the opening is “pending any unexpected or additional regulations and closures at the Canadian border resulting from COVID-19.”
