First & Last, a modern American restaurant, debuts on Roosevelt Row in Phoenix

PHOENIX – First & Last, a new modern American concept, debuted earlier this month on Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix.

The husband-and-wife team of Robb and Ashley Hammond opened the restaurant in the Gold Spot building at the northeast corner of Third Avenue and Roosevelt Street.

The over 3,000 square foot space features an open kitchen, chef’s counter, and patio, with 150 indoor and outdoor seating.

The venue also has a private space on the second floor that can be reserved for groups of up to 50 people.

Robb is the Executive Chef of First & Last and creates a rotating menu that uses fresh, seasonal ingredients.

“My goal is to bring the best produce and produce to the plates every day, while introducing a new dish to the menu every week,” he said in a press release.

“We have built a passionate and talented culinary team and I look forward to working with them and having complete creative freedom.”

Ashley is the general manager of the restaurant and manages the day-to-day operations of the venue.

“As long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to open a restaurant,” she said in the statement.

“When we found the perfect space in a neighborhood we love, it was almost too good to be true.”

First & Last is open from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, with happy hour daily from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
