Greater Lansing Food Championship Podcast: Best American Food-Round 1

Tuesday was the first episode of the Greater Lansing Food Championship podcast, where State Journal staff will determine the best individual menu item for a Lansing restaurant in a knockout tournament similar to the NCAA basketball tournament.

In the first episode, we picked four food items from local Mexican restaurants to upgrade to Sweet 16. In this final episode, host Phil Friend is joined by reporters Craig Lyons and Kara Berg as they eat food. of eight American restaurants and select four to continue.

Here is how we chose the terrain. All 32 articles were selected using Yelp, which categorizes restaurants into three categories: Recommended, Top Rated, and Most Reviewed. The three rankings were then averaged for each restaurant, with the top eight scores from each region being selected for the tournament. We then called all 32 restaurants to ask for their most popular or signature menu item. The foods above are what was chosen.
