New South American restaurant and cocktail bar opens in Frome
A new South American-influenced restaurant and cocktail bar will open in Frome, Somerset, early next month.
The new restaurant will be housed in the old Crown Inn pub on the edge of Frome.
New owners Dan and James have transformed the old Keyford pub, Frome and it now has a real log fire and rustic decor.

The menu is decidedly South American and the dishes are cooked on the fire or parrilla as it is called in South America.
The website says: âOur famous menu Parrillada food; meats, vegetables and cheeses cooked on Parrilla .
âThese Uruguayan / Argentinian barbecues cook food gently over holm oak embers without exposing it to open flames.

“Here, we have modified this centuries-old cooking technique by preparing our meats” under vacuum “before infusing more flavors on the Parrilla where the embers of wood give the barbecue the distinctive flavor. ”
The new owners are tailor-made cocktail experts having run a cocktail bar in Torquay, Devon.
The Crown Inn had been a very popular pub in Frome for generations and a post on the Frome Facebook group drew plenty of comments from people sharing memories of the good old days.
The new restaurant and cocktail bar will be new to Frome and the menu looks really interesting, with lots of exciting dishes and tapas from Argentina and Uruguay.
The website says, âOur menu may be inspired by Uruguay / Argentina, but a lot of our produce is locally sourced.
âAll of our meats are courtesy of HE Williams Butchers here in Frome, including our 28 Day Aged Beef, which is served medium rare (unless otherwise noted).
âEven the wood we use to heat our Parrilla comes just down the road at Valley Sawmills.
âWe are committed to supporting our community and our local business colleagues.
“As a result, no matter how exotic the menu is, you can always have confidence in the origin and high quality of the food we prepare.”
The Crown Inn will open on Friday October 8 and will be a welcome addition to Frome’s growing foodie scene.
