It all started with the dream of creating a place where guests would like to hang out with good friends over a burger and a beer. The first location opened in 1975 in Dallas, Texas, where a post office was transformed into a hip little joint named Chili’s. Since then, they’ve boldly claimed their place as a Texan-inspired restaurant beloved around the world. Today, they are present worldwide with more than 1,700 restaurants in 30 countries, the most recent of which opened right here in Shanghai in 2019.

The food

Chili’s is a pure taste of Americana, pure comfort in all its nostalgic splendor. The sprawling menu of Big Mouth Burgers are no exception. Made with Australian Angus beef, these burgers are hand crushed then grilled on a flat grill to seal in all the flavors, and served on a toasted brioche bun with melted cheese and fries.

The Bacon and Chili Burger (RMB98) lives up to its mastodon name, topped with slices of bacon, cheddar cheese, pickles, lettuce, red onion, tomato and garlic aioli. Other burger options include the South Smokehouse Burger (RMB 108), the Guacamole burger (98 RMB) or the Grilled Chicken Burger with Bacon and Avocado (RMB78).

Perhaps Chile’s greatest claim to fame comes from its Smoked ribs (RMB98). Using a secret recipe perfected for over 30 years, the ribs are homemade, weakly and slowly smoked over pecan wood with a clandestine blend of herbs and spices.

Guests can choose between Original flavor, Texas dry rub or Рour favorite sauce Рa sweet and spicy Honey chipotle. Each serving includes roasted Mexican sweet corn on the cob topped with chili seasoned mayonnaise, parmesan and lime, as well as oven-roasted pumpkin, pickled jalape̱o peppers and garlic bread.

Known for their Buffalo wings (RMB68 / 8 pieces)It’s no surprise that Chili’s has a wing and beer offering – 16 wings and two beers for just 128 RMB – essentially a full meal for two, with your choice of sauce: Garlic and herbs, BBQ Sauce, Creamy Jalapeño, Buffalo Sauce, Honey chipotle Where Mango Chili.

Perfect for sharing, the head wrap Sizzling Fajitas (RMB78-98) are a generous serving of your selection of chicken, tiger shrimp or steak, served with potatoes, peppers, onions, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo and hot flour tortillas.

The Pasta with shrimp and coriander pesto (RMB88) is a lighter alternative for the coming summer season – a colorful bowl of penne pasta mixed with a creamy chimichurri sauce, topped with grilled shrimp, pico de gallo and green onions.

Chili’s also offers a wide variety of children’s meals, from Roasted Tomato Pasta (RMB38) To Chicken Crispers (RMB45), there is certainly something to satisfy the little ones.

Chili’s Famous Melted Chocolate Cake (RMB68) worth throwing your food in the trash. The heat of the melted chocolate center melts the refreshing vanilla ice cream on top, creating a liquid avalanche of sweet goodness.
