This restaurant voted best Latin American restaurant on Long Island
A familiar Long Island Latin restaurant has won a prestigious honor for the ninth time in 10 years, according to a recently released poll.
Every year the Bethpage Best of LI asks Long Islanders to build a roadmap “to top-notch businesses and services in Nassau and Suffolk counties.”
Contest organizers have been counting votes since its inception, with winners ultimately chosen by Long Islanders who rely on these businesses every day.
This year, Nesconset’s favorite Mexican and Latin cuisine on Smithtown Boulevard in Suffolk County once again took home the honor, edging out Besito Mexican as “Long Island’s Best Latin American Restaurant.”
Maria’s has now earned this distinction for nine of the past 10 years since 2013.
Poll organizers highlighted the restaurant’s child-friendly nature, noting that it’s also a gathering place for groups of friends with free Wi-Fi for those who want to work in the restaurant.
The restaurant also offers special holiday menus, food service, and curbside pickup for anyone on the go. Maria’s also offers live music on Thursday evenings to accompany their monthly tapas tastings.
“Maria’s Mexican and Latin cuisine opens the senses to something magical that caters to sophisticated palates,” they said. “Latin American cuisine is anything but ordinary. Classic Latin-Mex cuisine pairs with specialty cocktails in scenic locations with monthly tapas nights.
“The chefs at Maria’s know how to prepare tasty, gluten-free, low-fat meals, and Long Islanders have voted Maria’s Best Latin American Restaurant for nine years. This restaurant’s bar is well stocked, so pair your meal with a glass of wine or beer.”
